Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiThe name refers to the Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Gheorghi Romania). She was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 during an Olympic occasion. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci in the age group of six. She later became Romania's gymnastics coach. The first time she competed at the national junior championships of 1969 where she placed 13th. She took the title in 1970. She took home three golds at her first event at a pre-Olympic junior meet in 1972 for communist-controlled countries. In 1973 as well as 1974, she became the all-around junior champion. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning 4 gold and one silver. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She also was the first female in the history of sport to take off the parallel bars and to use double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey into the world of entertainment began in her teens when she began performing as a figure skater with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the show that travels called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her professional career in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. As a young girl she began her journey as Figure Skating Performer alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. They had ice-skating performances that featured theatrical shows.
