Laura Linney is an American actor who has become well-known for her performance of powerful but fragile characters. She was raised by an unmarried single mother who was a nurse. Linney became interested in theatre during the holidays with her famous father. Her studies in acting were at Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. Her career began on Broadway shortly after her graduation, she made her debut in films within two years, and then on television in the year after. Over the past few years, she's appeared in numerous film, TV as well as stage productions. There were many awards she received during her professional career, which included the four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. However, in spite of numerous awards, theatre has remained her passion first and foremost. She has continued to appear both on stage and screen.
